Our Management

Ports and Marine Department (PMD) management structure is headed by the Director who manages and runs all overall policies and operations of the port.

Mr. Henry Worek joined the department of Ports and marine as a principle licensing officer in 14/01/2010. He was graduated and directly recruited as a qualified chief engineer of Navy M.V Tukoro at mala Base Port Vila. His experience as a sea fearer span over the years, in the maritime industry, management consultancy, as a principle licensing officer has upgraded him to become the Director of Ports and Marine Department on the 14th January 2010. He was also appointed this year 2020 as Acting Director General (DG) in the ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities.

His job as a Director involves in Management consultancy and Policy Development of Ports & Marine business plan over the years.

Robson Tari was appointed as Nav-Aid Technician Officer in 15/07/2016, managing Aid to Navigation sections and also appointed as the Acting Director of Ports and Marine Department. His job as an Acting Director involves in Management consultancy and Policy Development of Ports & Marine business plan over the years.

He was appointed as Ports Operations Manager in 23/07/2016, Mr. Charles Maniel a former cadet of department of ports and marine, graduated as a diploma of Maritime studies, had the privilege to pioneer and established Government Statutory Body, called the Office of the Maritime Regulator and he was the former Acting Regulator.

Appointed as Acting Operations Manager in 28/01/2020.has a greater progress in meeting the requirements for port operations achieving business plan.



 Mr. Esau Manaroto - Acting Operations Manager

Appointed as Harbor Master in 23/08/2016 at the Port of Port Vila. Captain John Nasak has over 28 years of experience in Domestic and International Maritime industry. Further, his career in maritime industry he attended diploma in nautical science maritime college Luganville Santo and in Fiji as master 3000gt as first ni-Vanuatu trial class 3 (Foreign Going). He was also a former licensing officer since 28/2/2015.

 Mr. John Nasak - Harbor Master

Mrs. Alison Kere has more than 27 years as a civil servant. She was a Secretary Typist in June 1986-1990; Administration/Executive Officer in 1990 to 2011 and she was appointed as Assistant Finance Office in 2011-2014 and in 2014-2020 she was appointed as senior Finance manager.
